カシャちゃんは日本に行きます

この本は面白くて絵はとてもかわいいです。カタカナがたくさんがあるのでいい練習です。でも、とてもやさしです。

I recommend this book to Japanese 110 students. It is very simple but with a lot of katakana, so it can be a great practice. It includes a lot of vocabulary and grammar that 110 students have just learned. The plot is very common and easy to follow. The pictures in the book are cute.

モモのともだち

この本はおもしろくてきれいが、ちょっとつまらないです。私はくまさんとハマスタさんがすきです。

I would recommend this to Japanese 110 students. It’s a level zero story. I enjoyed the artwork even though it can be a little confusing. The more you read the story, the more you understand it better.

西町交番の良さん「助けて!」

この本はおもしろいです。たくさん新したんごがあります。りょうさんは忙しくて、しんせつです。

This book is very interesting for people to read while learning some new vocabularies.  You can easily understanding this story with the picture. I recommend this book to JPN 110 students.

黒子

この本はとても悲しくで、面白い物語です。たくさん新しい単語。でも、図があぃませ。日本語のいちねん生は解ります。

I would recommend this book to all Japanese 110 students. The drawing is at such a high aesthetic level. The plot is heartbreaking but straightforward. After reading the book, the readers will begin to think about their relationships with their pets. There are some new words, but the pictures next to them help to explain the meanings a lot.

寿司ーすしーSUSHI

この本はとてもおもしろいとおもう。よもむずかしですがたのしです。えがすきです。

This book is very fun because it’s all information about sushi. Different types of sushi, what fish they are made from, and where sushi originated from. It had many unfamiliar words and phrases. I did not notice that this book is actually a level 1 book so that makes sense. Although it is very informational I would recommend that level 0 students not read this as they would have to look up several words and phrases in order to understand.

りょうさんのクリスマス

本はおもしろかった。サンタさんはどろぼういました。りょうさんはどろぼうをつかまえました。クリスマスはよかったです。

I would recommend this book because it is not a difficult read but it is very interesting. If you like books about the holiday season and happy endings, you will enjoy this book! The illustrations are also really pretty and make the book more fun to read.

緑(みどり)の豚(ぶた)

この本(ほん)はすごくかわいかったです。びじつはとてもきれいでした。本(ほん)はもやすかったです。むずかしくなかったです。私(わたし)はこの本(ほん)をJPN110のがくせいにすすめます。

This book was extremely cute. The art was very pretty. The book was also easy to understand. It was not difficult at all.

I recommend this book to JPN 110 students.

このはおもしろいです本のしゃしんはとてもかわいいかった。ぜんぜんむずかしくなかったです。クリスマスはもうすぐです。ホットチョコレートをたくさん飲みます。

This book was very interesting. This book is basically about a police officer chasing down a Santa burglar(泥坊). The moral of the story is doing something good can lead to positive outcomes. The pictures in this book are so cute. It wasn’t hard to read at all. The pictures gives a lot of context to the story and will help readers clearly understand what each scene means. This book reminded me that Christmas is near and I cant wait to drink a lot of hot chocolate. I will definitely recommend this book to JP 110 audience.

ノック

この本はとてもおもしろいです!この人はふゆやすみにうちに帰りませんでした。あたらしいりょうにすんでいました。となりの人がいました、かれのにもつがありましたから。でも、ぜんぜん会いません。それから、ノックをしました。来年のふゆやすみ、あのりょうにもすんでました. Something こわいがあります!

This is a very interesting story. This story is about a girl who stayed at school over the winter break.  She knew that she has a neighbor,  but have never met her. One day, she knocks on her door, but nobody responded. As I have also stayed at Smith over two winter breaks, I can totally relate to the lonely experience. However, while I thought the book is only about someone’s experience, there is an unexpected plot twist in the end!

I would recommend it to Japanese first-year students. The author drew the pictures by herself and used a lot of vocabulary that we have just studied.

カシャちゃんは日本に行きます

この本はとても面白いです。カシャさんはアメリカに住んでいました。友達は英語を話しました。でも、カシャさんは日本に行きました、それから、友達は日本語を話しました。片仮名を勉強しました。

This book is really interesting. It includes both hiragana and katakana with interesting plot. Pictures are really cute, too. I learned a lot of animal names through this book. I recommend everyone in JPN 110 to read this book.
