Department of Justice Sexual Harassment in Housing Initiative
Department of Justice Sexual Harassment in Housing Initiative is an effort to combat sexual harassment in housing led by the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. The goal of the Initiative is to address sexual harassment by landlords, property managers, maintenance workers, loan officers or other people who have control over housing. 20 States by 2020 Campaign
On the one-year anniversary of #MeToo going viral, nearly 300 organizations came together to call for strengthened protections against sexual harassment and violence at work, in schools, homes, and communities—demanding concrete advances in “20 states by 2020.” Led by Girls for Gender Equity, the campaign is progressing in the state. The National Women’s Law Center published a report on this in July of 2019: Progress in Advancing Me Too Workplace Reforms in #20StatesBy2020.

The media spotlight presented a tremendous opportunity to reframe sexual harassment from an individual, personal and idiosyncratic instance of sexual desire to a common abuse of gender and economic power affecting millions of working women and men on a daily basis…”
