Smith TV was started in 2001 by Adele Ashley and Maureen Drake. The first broadcast debut was in March of 2001, with 80 hours of original programing. SCTV-66 became an "official" organization when the charter was passed at the end of the spring semester of 2001.
Adele and Marureen have since graduated, but the current members are working hard to keep Smith TV up and running! In the fall of 2003 the station moved to it's new channel at 88 and recieved several ammendments to it's charter.
