  • Check the Flywheel Schedule for ongoing exhibitions and events at FLYWHEEL ARTS, volunteer-run, community art space at 2 Holyoke Street, Easthampton. To get involved, go to the open house, the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm.
    Flywheel mission statement: "Flywheel believes that art and information should be equally accessible and affordable to all people. We're an all-volunteer, non-profit collective."

    Along with music/sonic art events, Flywheel hosts the "Bright Rectangle" screening series featuring experimental media artists presentations and performances in film and video. Get involved!

  • Media Education Foundation is an internationally recognized organization, located here in Northampton, which is known for its use of electronic media to critically examine the ideological underpinnings of contemporary mass media and popular culture.

  • Western Massachusetts Independent Media Center (WMass IMC) is an activist media organization and describes its mission to promote "social, economic, and environmental justice by providing a local forum for people to publish writing, photos, audio, video, and art traditionally marginalized by corporate media." To get involved visit the IMC website, join an IMC mailing list, attend their regular meetings (announced at the website).

  • Paradise City Media Collaborative, located in Northampton, began in 1994 as an organization for film and video makers.

  • Northampton Arts Council has information on grants to local artists and other local initiatives.

  • MassMoCA (Massachussetts Museum of Contemporary Art), located in North Adams, is an 80-minute drive from Northampton. Since "day one" of its existence, Mass MoCA has presented challenging ideas in the forms of electronic media and installation art. Highly recommended.
