Remarks: It was widely believed that Harriman was about to form the first coast to coast railroad. He was just returned from a trip to Europe and had less than two weeks to live when this cartoon was published, but he is using stocks and bonds to make a Union Pacific Stew to which he is adding the New York Central, the Illinois Central, and other lines.
