Jacobus [Jacopo] Celius [Celio]
Rome; admitted without examination, 27 January 1560 [ DS 5, fol. 158r]; mandati : February 1560-December 1570; died in Rome between 2 and 8 September 1570 and a funeral Mass was celebrated in San Giovanni dei Fiorentini on 13 September 1570 [ DS 9, fols. 79v-81r]. Celius apparently had a problem with women; the cardinals commission in 1565 allowed him to stay in the chapel, but remarked that he should be warned about his sexual proclivities ["bonus sed mulerium appetitor, admoneatur"--Document].
