Events of Previous Years

`04-`05

4/24/05 Full Moon Ritual - We celebrated the culmination of the school year through a full moon ritual.

2/20/05 Chant Workshop II - Virginia, taught the group more chants and practiced older ones.

2/13/05 Divination Workshop - We discussed different methods of divination. (tarot cards, pendulums, crystals, scrying mirrors) Kim provided help with learning tarot.

2/5/05 Imbolg Ritual - Our ritual included the sharing of chants and creation myths.

2/4/05 Baking Workshop - We made sun bread, moon cookies, and herb bread in the Campus Center kitchen. We enjoyed some of our baked goods while they were fresh from the oven and saved some for our Imbolg ritual.

12/12/04 Yule Ritual and Party - We celebrated Yule early to avoid the busyness around reading period and finals. During the ritual, we did a guided meditation. Afterwards, we sung "paganized" versions of popular Christian holiday songs and made Yule tree ornaments.

12/5/04 Chanting Workshop - During our regular meeting time, our events chair, Virginia, taught the group lots of new chants and we had fun practicing them.

11/19/04 Pagan-themed Movie-watching - Members of ASP watched the film Kiki's Delivery Service, an anime film about a young witch who must find her calling, and discussed the positive and negative aspects of the film from a pagan perspective.

10/31/04: Open Samhain Ritual - We invited members of the Smith campus to attend our Samhain ritual to learn more about paganism and experience an ASP ritual. We remembered the things or persons dear to us who had passed from our lives and reenacted the myth of Isis and Osiris. Afterwards, we walked downtown, chanting, to leave offerings in the crossroads (a.k.a. the be-boop lights).

10/13/04: New Moon Ritual - We celebrated the cycling of the moon in a new moon ritual near the campus pond and asking for blessings upon our goals for the semester and year.

9/26/04: Mabon Ritual - We attended a Mabon ritual at the Sunwheel on the U-Mass Amherst campus that was planned and hosted by several adult pagan groups in the five-college area. Food was collected to benefit a local food pantry.
