Smith College Ice Hockey

Prospective Players

Ice hockey is one of the many club sports at Smith College, differing from varsity sports in that the team is jointly run by an elected board of students and the coach. Smith Ice Hockey competes in the American Collegiate Hockey League (ACHL) and the New England Women's Collegiate Hockey League, as well as with other schools and novice women's teams in the area.

The hockey team has no try-outs and any member of the Smith College student body can be a member of the team, including graduate students and Ada Comstock scholars. We welcome players of all skill levels, and the team includes members ranging from high school varsity players to young women who have never skated before.

The team has both on and off ice practices during the week and usually 1 to 2 games each weekend during the season. Practices are designed to be productive and just challenging enough for each level of player, focused on teamwork and game situation based skills.

If you have any questions, or would like to introduce yourself as a prospective player, feel free to contact us, either through the team's email, or through our coach or captains; contact info is here.
