The traditional calendar is lunisolar, and based upon calculated positions of the sun and moon. Months have either 29 or 30 days and always begin on days of astronomical new moons. An intercalary month is added every two or three years. Both the Chinese calendar and the Gregorian calendar are used in today's Chinese communities. In fact, they are combined into one --- pretty much like the one I put on here. |

In China, the same clock is used across the country -- the Beijing Time, which is GMT plus eight hours.
