Additional Tasks for QDA Software
Some (but not all) approaches to qualitative research also seek to develop networks of conceptual relationships among codes. These networking approaches make additional demands on QDA software beyond "code and retrieve" tasks, including:
- Graphical network display capabilities to portray relationships among text passages, codes, memos and other information;
- Capacity to identify user-specified relationships among elements in the network;
- Requiring high-quality video and print graphics output.
- Still others may wish to code graphics files, audio files or video files.
- These require specific tools as well as integration with other software formats and programs.
- Some researchers may wish to make their work available over the World Wide Web, using .html or, more recently, .xml file formats.
